Asana: The Art of Adjustment
April 16-18, 16-20

Explore how proper structural alignment can support the energetics of a posture. The goal of stirum sukum asanum (strength and ease in the posture) is more readily reached when the biomechanics of a pose are understood. A previous general knowledge of bones and muscles will be helpful. We will explore adjustment through verbal cues, mirroring and touch. In an experiential and highly participatory forum, students will be adjusted and have the opportunity to adjust others.

This workshop is designed both for yoga teachers and for those who simply want to deepen their practice; it is not suitable for brand-new beginners.

  • Continuing Education Credit for nurses.
  • Fulfills the spiritual practice prerequisite for John F. Kennedy University's Graduate School for Holistic Studies.
  • Qualifies for YTT 500. You must apply to the YTT 500 program before taking this class for credit.
