Over this weekend we will explore slow asana, kumbhaka, and mantra in asana. These practices are designed to deepen Triputi or the union of mind, breath and body. In the slow asana practice we will pay deep attention to movement and the transitions between postures. In the Kumbhaka Series we will marry the intentional control of breath in pranayama with the practice of yoga asana. In Mantra we will yoke the concentration of the mind on sound as we move through our yoga postures.

Please note: this weekend will be vigorous on many levels and therefore is most appropriate for seasoned practitioners.

MANGALA NORSKOG, RN, Ayurvedic Practitioner, integrates aspects of devotional intention, anatomical reference, and subtle body physiology into classical methods of traditional asana, pranayama, and meditation practice. A long time student of Baba Hari Dass, Mangala continues to “teach to learn.” She has been an instructor in Mount Madonna Center’s Ashtanga Yoga Teachers Training Program since 1996.
