Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training
June 20-July 16

We are honored to teach a comprehensive system of Yoga that has endured for
thousands of years. Through the teachings of Baba Hari Dass, the practices of
Ashtanga (eight-limbed) Yoga have been preserved as expounded by the sages of
old, with all their vital relevance to daily life today.
This program is for those who are or wish to be yoga teachers, as well as for
any conscientious student who wishes to expand and deepen his or her
knowledge, experience, and practice of Yoga.
The course will include in-depth instruction in the theory and methods of
Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga, including Shat Karma (bodily purifications),
Pranayama (breathing practices), Mudra (positions to seal and direct energy),
Asana (beginning and intermediate-advanced postures), and Dhyana (meditation).
There will also be classes on the Yoga Sutras, Ayurveda, anatomy for asanas,
subtle (energy) body theory, and yoga psychology and philosophy. Our purpose
is to present the teachings and practices which form the foundation both for
one's personal practice and for teaching yoga. A certificate of completion
based on attendance is awarded at the end of the program.
Mount Madonna Center is a yoga school registered with The Yoga Alliance, and
this program qualifies anyone who completes it to register as an RYT
(Registered Yoga Teacher) at the 200-hour level.
NOTE: An additional Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training is being planned for
2008-2009 on a one-weekend-a-month basis, starting with an initial 6-day
intensive August 18-24.
