Kamalesh or Ginger Hooven
Kamalesh
began teaching yoga to deepen her own personal practice and to share the joys of yoga with those who put themselves in her path. Kamalesh lived in Guatemala from 1986 until 2002 when she moved to Mount Madonna Center and began studying with Baba Hari Dass. She is now part of the ongoing teaching team.
Kamalesh says, "Awareness is key. I encourage the students to look for the ease within each posture, regardless of the level of difficulty.” Kamalesh has studied with Georg Feuerstein, Patricia Walden, John Friend, Judith Lassiter, and Richard Rosen, among others. She is a Yoga Alliance registered teacher at the 500-hour level.
Lirio Ohlson Lirio Ohlson grew up at Mount Madonna Center and has studied yoga for 15 years with Baba Hari Dass. She has taught yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation for the last 10 years. Her interests include breath retention (kumbhaka) and slow asana, with and emphasis on the unification of body, breath and awareness (Triputi).
Mangala Norskog Mangala Norskog is a student of Baba Hari Dass in the Classical System of Ashtanga Yoga. She was certified in 1996 at the Mount Madonna Center Yoga Teacher Training, apprenticed in the program for two years following, and then became a senior staff instructor each successive year to date. Her instruction brings particular emphasis to the movement of prana throughout the body, related to breath coordination, awareness of mind, and anatomical/physiological significance. Mangala is currently a student of Nursing and teaches yoga in a variety of settings to all ages, from children to elders.
Muneesh Rudin Muneesh Rudin has been studying and practicing classical ashtanga yoga under the guidance of Baba Hari Dass since 1994. Before this, he trained in Iyengar and contemporary ashtanga vinyasa styles. Muneesh has been a main coordinator and teacher of the year-round residential pranayama, meditation and asana program at Mount Madonna Center since 1998. He has been a main coordinator and teacher of the asana portion of the yoga teachers training there since 2001. His enthusiasm in asana is in developing creative and challenging flow which engages the mind and strengthens the connection between movement, breath and concentration. His emphasis is on the positive effects this practice has – strengthening the body, building prana, and developing one-pointed concentration, in progress towards the internal limbs of ashtanga yoga – concentration, meditation and samadhi.
