45th Annual Liberation Yoga Retreat
Jun 29 - Jul 3, 2023
Pathways to Peace: Tending the Flame Within
There are many pathways to liberation...
The idea of liberation goes back to the earliest longings of human beings to realize the Self, that mysterious essence at our core, of god, truth, bliss, peace.
During this four day retreat together, we’ll immerse ourselves in various ways old and new to remember, rekindle, empower and enhance the inner flame of our essential nature. Through classic yoga methods of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation – the foundational branches of this ancient wisdom – as well as kirtan (devotional singing), and thematic presentations, we will explore more deeply the pathways to liberation.
Auspiciously, embedded within this retreat, on July 2nd, is the full moon celebration of Guru Purnima, a traditional time to honor the spiritual teacher and teachings. We will celebrate at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple through puja (offerings), prayer, and an ancient Vedic fire ceremony known as yajna.
By coming together in this way with shared intention, we join in satsang (a community of like-minded seekers) cultivating and tending the flames of peace within and among ourselves.
At this retreat, you will experience:
- Morning and Evening arati (ritual of light)
- Practices of pranayama, meditation, and asana
- Presentations and discussions on Tending the Flame Within
- Kirtan
- Guru Purnima yajna honoring the teacher and the teachings on Sunday, July 2
- Time to spend on your own in nature, visiting with others over tea or a meal, or enjoying a wellness treatment (advance reservation recommended)
