Tenshin Reb Anderson: Like a Lotus in Muddy Water

Apr 6 - 8, 2018

Retreat Description

In Zen we often say, “May we exist in muddy water with purity like a lotus.” It is not by trying to eliminate suffering and its causes that we become free. Rather it is by fully accepting and embracing the muddy waters of birth and death that we, in concert with the great earth and all living beings, realize the lotus flower of perfect wisdom.

This retreat offers an opportunity to nurture and realize such wisdom.

There will be periods of quiet sitting and walking meditation, together with teachings and group discussions, and as time allows, individual meetings with the teacher for those interested.

The schedule also has free time for rest and relaxation amid redwood groves and meadows in the springtime mountains.
