Welcoming Our Guests to Campus

We look forward to welcoming you, whether for one day, an extended retreat, or an ongoing training. The health, safety, and comfort of our guests, staff, faculty, and residents are of utmost importance.

We continue to follow strict health and safety practices with regard to COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) and other prevalent transmissible illnesses. Mount Madonna’s policies and practices are informed by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines as well as California Department of Public Health directives.

Things to Know Before Your Visit

Before Arrival

  • You are encouraged to bring your own COVID-19 test with you in case you need it during your stay. There may be a limited number of tests available for use by guests and staff.
  • Please keep in mind when booking your stay that Mount Madonna is located a minimum of 25 minutes distance from retail centers or health clinics/hospitals and medical supplies (such as Covid tests).
  • Monitor yourself for symptoms in the five days leading up to your visit. If you develop symptoms of COVID-19 or another transmissible illness before you arrive, or if you have a positive COVID-19 test, please call to reschedule your visit.
  • Guests who are traveling to Mount Madonna on public transportation (plane, bus, train, etc.) are encouraged to please be extra cautious, and to wear a mask and practice hand hygiene during their travel. Please see the CDC website for travelers’ health regarding COVID-19.

During Your Stay

  • The Mount Madonna campus is open to registered day and overnight guests only. Reservations are required prior to arrival on campus. Currently, we are unable to accommodate walk-in guests.
  • Vaccination, although recommended, is no longer required for guests.
  • Masking is not required indoors. However, please make your own decision about whether masking is important for you (taking into account your own health concerns, risk tolerance, etc.).
  • Masks are available at the Reception Office in the Community Building.
  • Please be conscientious about hand hygiene. Always wash your hands/use sanitizer after touching your face or coughing/sneezing. Guests are required to wash hands before entering the dining hall buffet line. Hand sanitizer is available in the dining room if guests wish to sanitize hands after going through the buffet line.
  • If you develop symptoms of COVID or other transmissible illness while at Mount Madonna, please
    • Immediately put on a mask and isolate yourself in your room.
    • Contact Guest Services and your group leader to let us know of your illness.
    • Test yourself for COVID (let us know if you need a test). Even if COVID test is negative we request that you keep yourself isolated and masked if you are ill.
    • Please make a plan to get yourself home as soon as possible if you are ill or have COVID.
    • We do not typically allow for guests to isolate at Mount Madonna Center; however, we will evaluate circumstances in a case by case basis for those guests who must take public transportation (such as airplane, train, bus) to get home
    • Call your healthcare provider or local urgent care if you need medical attention. A few local urgent care centers:
  • In cases of COVID illness, Mount Madonna practices contact tracing in an effort to cut down on the spread of illness amongst our guests and residents
  • Mount Madonna uses cleaning products that meet EPA guidelines and are effective against viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens. Our cleaning practices exceed California State requirements. Common areas are frequently cleaned and sanitized. Guest Rooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to guest arrival.
