Work at Mount Madonna Center
Serve ~ Live ~ Learn
We offer unique employment pathways for those with the heart and skill needed to support the operations of a lively retreat center, temple, and intentional yoga community. We invite our staff to live their principles and dedicate their service to the sustainability of the mission, vision, and values of Mount Madonna Center.
Explore your own self-development while supporting a movement of holistic education and spiritual discipline.
Decades of volunteerism laid the foundation for the Center, and an embodied practice of karma yoga, or “the yoga of action," remains the ethos for all service at the Center. Our community and staff see work as an experiential opportunity to transform ourselves and our lives, as a devotional act on a path to freedom. We know there are other seekers out there who are looking for more than just a job, but want the kind of livelihood that arises from rich community connections and meaningful service.

Our organization is in a time of dynamic change, as we engage diverse talent through a new staffing model, transfer deep wisdom through a generational transition of leadership, and relaunch to host guests after an extended closure.

Residential Positions Now Available
Mount Madonna Center's operations are supported by an intentional community that was founded in 1978, and that context of community living makes for rich and unique job opportunities. Working and practicing alongside your friends and neighbors is a challenge that offers many rewards!
Currently, about 70 residents, as well as an extended community of volunteers and employees, support the activities of the Center's mission. All residents contribute to sustaining the community and land with weekly volunteer hours, in the spirit of collective service. Beyond the positions listed above, there are opportunities to engage and learn more about the community through time spent in classes, meal-serving, tending the garden, and other volunteer service hours.
