Kaya Kalpa means rejuvenation of body and spirit and our professionally trained practitioners are dedicated to your well-being. We offer a variety of Ayurveda therapies, traditional massage and other body therapies to enhance your stay at Mount Madonna Center. Nestled among majestic oak and redwood trees, on 355 acres overlooking Monterey Bay, Kaya Kalpa Wellness Center offers an oasis for relaxation, health and nurturing.

Ayurveda Services
Ayurveda is the traditional Indian science of health and comes from the Sanskrit words, Ayur meaning life and veda meaning knowledge. We are pleased to offer these ancient healing techniques for bringing harmony, peace and balance to one’s mind, body and spirit.

• Swedana
  An oiling of the entire body using long, slow rhythmic techniques, followed by a rosemary and eucalyptus steam in our cedar steam cabinet. The treatment is completed with a body dusting, using organic barley flour and a dry brushing which exfoliates and refreshes the skin. Swedana helps the process of detoxification by inducing sweat, calming the mind and alleviating muscle and joint pain. Ask us about contraindications.

• Shirodhara
  A warm ginger pack is placed on the back while you enjoy a head, neck, shoulder, hand and foot massage. This is followed by a steady stream of warm organic oil over the forehead. Deeply relaxing, soothing and rejuvenating, this treatment calms the nervous system and helps relieve stress, headaches, insomnia and exhaustion.
  $115 (60 min) or add-on to another treatment for $75 (30 min)


• Abhyanga
  A vigorous, warm oil massage, stimulating the lymphatic system. Deeply nourishing, Abhyanga style massage relaxes muscles and moves prana (life force energy).

• Marma Point Face Massage Add-On
  Warm organic almond oil massaged over the vital facial points. A soothing addition to most treatments.

• Swedish Massage
  Light to firm massage using warmed oils.

• Stone Massage
  With warm, organic oil and warmed stones. The heat from the stones penetrates into the muscles for revitalization and groundedness. Ask about contraindications before scheduling.

• Reiki
  A gentle hands-on approach to balance and harmonize one’s subtle energies. Reiki is restorative and nurturing, calms emotional distress and relaxes an over stressed body. It can be enjoyed alone or as a complement to other services. Recipient is fully clothed.

Extras to add on…

• Aromatherapy
  Aromatherapy can enhance your oil massage experience. We offer eight aromatherapy oils at no additional charge, hand made from our own ‘Ayurveda World.’ Please let your practitioner know if you would like any of these aromatic scents added to your massage oil: geranium, jasmine, lavender, lotus, rose, sandalwood, tulsi and wintergreen.
  


• Herbal Steam
  Enhance the detoxification and cleansing process after a massage or abhyanga with the exquisite experience of an herbal steam with fresh organic herbs in our cedar steam cabinet. Ask about contraindications.

• Marma Point Face Massage
  Warm organic almond oil is massaged over the facial vital points using an Ayurveda technique. Marma Point Massage can be enjoyed after most treatments.

• Therapeutic Oil
  Crafted on site by a resident herbalist using organic sesame oil and local herbs, these therapeutic oils enhance your experience. Choices include: rosemary (soothing, eases tired and overworked muscles), arnica (an anti-inflammatory to relieve bruising, strains, sprains and muscle soreness) or rose geranium (strengthens muscles).

• Shirodhara
  A steady stream of organic oil over the third eye. An excellent addition to a massage or Abhyanga.

Wellness Center Requests:

• We encourage you to schedule your appointment as far in advance as possible to ensure a practitioner is available for your particular request.
• Phone and email messages are checked daily.
• A scheduler will be present during Friday evening dinner and Saturday morning brunch in the lobby of the Community Building.
• Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment.

RESERVATION POLICY

We require a credit card number or gift certificate number to reserve an appointment.

We kindly request 24 hours notice on cancelling or rescheduling appointments. If a 24-hour notice is not given, 50% of the price of the service is billed to the client. A full charge will be applied for a cancellation without notice.

LATE POLICY

If you are late for an appointment, a modified service will be performed if time permits and will end at the scheduled time. However, if time does not permit you will be charged 50% of the services selected.

REFUND POLICY

Without a 24 hr notice, with the exception of emergency situations, refunds will not be given.

GIFT CERTIFICATE POLICY

Gift Certificates must be used for services and cannot be redeemed for cash. Gift Certificates expire 180-days from the date of purchase.
