About Hanuman Jayanti
On the auspicious day of Hanuman Jayanti, you are invited to offer prayers to Hanuman, who represents strength, power, loyalty and great knowledge, and who serves as the protector and the one who is victorious over all evils.
At Mount Madonna, this annual event celebrates the birthdays of both Hanuman and Baba Hari Dass.
The day's events will include a parade, chanting of the Sundar Kanda from the revered epic Ramayana, and a yajna (fire ceremony) at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple. A bhoj (feast) will conclude the festivities.
Hanuman is one of the most popular deities in Hinduism. He is venerated throughout India and much of Southeast Asia as the embodiment of devotion, faith, valor, strength, and energy. In the epic Indian tale of the Ramayana, he represents the embodiment of perfect selflessness in his service to the Divine, in the form of Lord Ram.
In most parts of India, the auspicious festival of Hanuman Jayanti (Hanuman’s birthday) is celebrated on the purnima (full moon day) of the Chaitra month which usually falls in March or April.

Hanuman Jayanti also invites us to embody the qualities of strength, loyalty, and resilience in the face of adversity, qualities displayed by lord Hanuman as he valiantly journeyed to reunite Sita and Ram.
